The Brighton Lindy Hop scene started in 1994 with Dan Guest and Julie Oram, Lizzie Abrahams attended the class for a number of years, the class ended around the year 2000. By this time Lizzie had visited the only Swing dance camps going at the time- Jumping at the Woodside in Gloucester, the London Lindyhop Festival in Acton, La Santa Swing in Lanzarote and Herrang in Sweden.
It became Lizzie’s personal mission to create enough dancers in Brighton to put on her own weekend. The planning for the first one took four years plus a partnership with Simon Selmon from Swing dance UK.
We have grown from strength to strength and have welcomed people from all over the world. We hope you can come along for 2020.
